Our Story
Saving Amy was founded with the mission of:
Creating Community. Transforming Lives. Resolving Homelessness.
Jennifer Kiernan embarked on this journey while volunteering at a local shelter, where she observed the persistent struggles faced by families leaving shelters, trapped in the cycles of homelessness and poverty. It was during this time that Jennifer encountered many individuals, usually single mothers, grappling with homelessness, past incarceration, and addiction. Witnessing this became the catalyst for Jennifer’s determination to effect change.
Driven by a commitment to address the unique needs of families, Jennifer founded Saving Amy as a non-profit organization. Our comprehensive and holistic approach ends homelessness and cultivates healthy lifestyles through mentoring, life skills education, educational advancement, and achieving financial stability through employment.

The families we serve are proof of what’s possible—employed, living independently, and supported in creating stability for their children.
Saving Amy supports diverse groups, including families and veterans of all races, ethnicities, religions, genders, sexual orientations, ages, disabilities, or national origins. We provide vital assistance to individuals and families in Phoenix and its surrounding areas, and we are actively expanding our reach to meet the growing challenges of homelessness.
